David Kessner's 9 meg jpg stereo 4800x4800x2 compressed at 92
(large file size) crossed view (click to view full sized). The anaglyph version.
This may be the largest stereo image on the internet. Dave said
that the scans were not identical and that there is some dust on the
image. Unfortunately, scanned
slides and negatives seem to show any dust or scratches more than they
would in a handheld viewer. This image is sharp corner to corner
and the number of pixels
is greater than that of any consummer digital camera.
A close look at the upper left:(click to enlarge) is offered
below. An image this large with the ability to examine it this
close may not
be useful unless the detail is rewarding. Some subjects, like a
city scene, or some natural environments may have detail worthy of
closer examination. Sometimes another closer shot may be better
than fine detail for the person viewing images on a computer stereo
display. Personal preferences are partially based on one's
viewing hardware. The full resolution may be seen all at once
using a hand
held film viewer. Digital viewers can download this from anywhere
that is well connected, but the quality of the display will set the
limit
on percieved technical quality of the image.
